Dangerous Goods Regulations by Air – Initial Course 5 Days
Group A- Personnel Responsible for processing or accepting dangerous goods consignments

This course is designed specifically for shippers, shipper’s agents, packers, airlines and ground handling agents who must, according to both local and international Regulations, undergo approved training.
These Regulations are governed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and IATA, and are a worldwide legal requirement, which is enforced by the Civil Aviation Authorities.
This course covers the contents of the Dangerous Goods Regulations with the exception of Radioactive material. (A separate two day course is available for Radioactives)

General philosophy of dangerous goods transportation.

Application of the regulations.

Limitations of transport of certain classes.

The classification and identification of goods and the correct use of MSDS’s.

Packing of dangerous goods.
-
Marking and labeling.
-
Documentation and the responsibilities associated to this document.

Storage, segregation and local requirements.

Checking of cargo.
At the end of the course, the delegates will undertake an examination and on successful completion will be issued with a certificate, which is valid for a period of two years. The pass mark required is 80%.

Dangerous Goods Regulations by Air – Refresher Course 3 Days
Group A- Personnel Responsible for processing or accepting dangerous goods consignments
Group F- Personnel responsible for preparation of dangerous goods consignments
(Please note: DGMsa is no longer an IATA Accredited ATS)
A three day re-validation course is available for personnel who still hold a current certificate for Dangerous Goods by Air, but is due to expire within the 24 month prescribed validity period.
The same topics are covered as for the initial course.
At the end of the course, the delegates will undertake an examination and on successful completion will be issued with a certificate, that is valid for a period of two years. The pass mark required is 80%.
